Wants a Second Opinion
Shirley has worked with her broker, John, at Merrill Lynch for years. He seems to be doing a good job, but she feels she has no way of knowing for sure. She has recently been reading about how timing the market works against long-term investors, yet John frequently calls her saying she should sell some of her investments because he has “better” ones that are “hot” right now. He’s seems to really understand the markets (which she never has) and so she agrees to the trades.
Shirley would like an expert to look over her portfolio and give her an unbiased opinion on the value and appropriateness of her current investments.
